Green line on Dell monitor!

Booted my PC this morning and on my two year old Dell 22" monitor I have a thin green line from top to bottom about 6 inches from the right side. Can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. Suggestions??

Re: Green line on Dell monitor!

you can try it on a different machine or try a different cable, but most likely, seems like a problem with the monitor. is it still under warranty?

I'm thinking it's not under warranty but I'll try to dig out the receipt. I'll try another cable though, thanks!

It's very likely a loose electrical connection along the edge of the monitor. You could try squeezing the top and bottom edges where the line eminates from and see if that has any effect. If it is a loose connection that might stop it altogether or you could put a small clamp on the area that has the loose connection.

Had something similar ona Hp laptop. Squeezing the sides worked for a bit. Or if you put pressure on it, it then the crystals broke and that's the liquid running down the sides

Re: Green line on Dell monitor!

I tried squeezing all around the screen. No luck. The frame is thick so squeezing won't work either.

Thanks for the suggestions though

Thanks, been too busy to look for the receipt. Hope it is a three year otherwise I'll be shopping for a new one.
