Need Help -- Itunes Problem: Can't burn CD's

This is the error message I get every time I start up Itunes:

Itunes

The software loads up afterwards just fine, but once I attempt to burn a CD from one of my playlists, I got the following error message:

"Disc Recording Device Not Found"

I'm not really tech savy when it comes to stuff like this, so I was wondering if any of you have a solution to this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried unstalling, reinstalling Itunes and doing repairs and then re-booting and none seem to work.

I did a few google searches and some pages mention doing a manual fix on the Registry, which I have no clue how to do.

You can try and use the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove iTunes and then reinstall. I've done it in the past to fix iTunes problems.

I had this exact same problem and couldn't figure it out (sorry). I noticed it wasn't just iTunes, though. Windows wasn't recognizing any CDs I put in the drive (DATA or Audio), but would recognize DVDs, HD DVDs, and Blu-rays no problem.

I only managed to fix it by re-installing Windows. Definitely not a preferred solution, of course, but it worked.

Maybe a driver issue?

It was indeed a driver issue. When my DVD/CDR disappeared a few days ago from My Computer, I found a document that had me delete the Upper & Lower Filters and that screwed up Itunes.

driver issue, usually on windows 7. itunes, zune and some other software use drivers from a company called gearbox to burn CD/DVD's. try installing gearbox from their software download.
