Question on copying CDs using a Burner

Is copying a music CD from a CD rom to a CD Burner as simple as hitting record? Or is it more complicated than that? (I have a feeling it is).

It's pretty straight forward depending on the cd writing software you use. Both Nero and EZ CD creator are the most widely used and can do cd-to-cd copy very easily.

And I'm assuming that if I take a CD a burned myself (from mp3s), and then try to burn a copy of THAT, it's no different? The answer seems clear, but I want to make sure.
