What are the essentials in my startup

I forgot how to get in and remove some of them could somebody please remind me.

If they're in your startup folder, just use windows explorer and search for startup. Open the found folder(s) and delete the programs you don't want run at startup time.

Sometimes programs can be in an .ini or your registry too. Just in case you don't see what you're looking for in startup.

Start>Run>msinfo32>"Tool" tab>System Configuration Utility>"Startup" tab

for startup, all you really need is "explorer" and "systray"

Start-->Run-->msconfig

You can probably switch at least half the crap off, most of them are usually just registration reminders and environment checks for various programs...

To be more exact, so items that are safe (and actually very smart) to remove in your msconfig proggy under Startup menu in this utility are:

-TaskMonitor
-LoadPowerProfile
-Critical Update
-Scheduling Agent
- and any Real Player crap that doesn't necessarily be, in fact NONE of them

Hope this helps increase some of you valued system resources!
