Hey guys,

I thought I would post here before biting the bullet and wiping my hard drive.


Last night, I picked up the worst malware/trojan horse whatever crap on my PC, and I can't get the damn thing off. I knew there was something wrong with my computer started speaking advertisements, and I didn't even have a web browser open. The infection is so bad that I can not web surf at all. If I click on a link, I am redirected to an advertisement page. Same results in Internet Explorer and Mozilla, and my PC runs at a crawl.


Even more frustrating, my 90 day Norton version expired just 3 days ago, and I deleted the software. No problem, I'll just do a Windows restore point. To my dismay, Norton had turned the option off!!

I downloaded AVG anti-virus, Adaware, and Spybot. All three programs found junk and cleaned them, but I still have the infection. I've never encountered a bug so bad to foil all 3 programs.


Does anyone have any other suggestions?

adaware and spybot arent what they once were. These are pretty much the best current antimalware/spyware prorgrams:.

As for Free Antivirus go with Avira.

Grab Anti-Malware, boot into safe mode and execute it.

What version of Windows are you using? XP?

Gotcha, yeah, this kind of malware is extremely common in XP, it's also a little bit of a bitch to get rid of.
