Re: Hard Drive Question

If you have a Mac, (or are running Mac OS X) you can use the included Disk Utility to do multi-pass, random-data erases.

Re: Hard Drive Question

thanks, good timing, i bought a new HD, but it's making hard "clicks" and they're getting more frequent...time to return, but wanted to wipe before doing so.

No

Some would even say that on a modern hard drive a 3 pass wipe won't even wipe all the data off.
