"They are pretty good monitors. But you should check one out in a store if possible."

Don't know about this monitor but I just bought a Samsung 2494SW 24" LCD for $190 over the Black Friday weekend. Obviously this can't compare to my Apple Cinema. Not a bad monitor especially the size you are getting for the price. The viewing angle do suck though and the brightness is hard to control.

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

I bought a 19" HannsG LCD monitor three years ago for $120 after rebate, which was a fantastic deal at the time.
It still runs great, for what it's worth...

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

I was tempted into buying that because of the 1920 x 1200 resolution. I didn't need the tuner though because I already have a 37" LCD TV in the basement.

i actually wanted the tuner cuz i wanted to get a tv for my room, but i figured, meh, with this deal, i can use it as a monitor and tv. if i were looking only for a monitor though, then like you, i probably wouldn'tve gotten it.

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

I'm just bummed that the 1920x1200 LCD monitors are becoming extinct. Down with the 1920x1080 LCD monitors!

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

I ended up ordering a refurb Soyo 24" 1920x1200 monitor from Mwave for about $155 delivered. I had the earlier 3-year old Soyo model that I was used to, so I'm used to whatever minor deficiencies this model would have. I soon learned it was very bright, but it does the job for me, and if it last another 3 years, I can handle $50/year cost for a 24" 1920x1200 monitor.

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

If it were me, i probably would've gotten a Dell or Samsung 24" for about the same price. though they're 1080 instead of 1200.

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

take a look at some of the top listed reviews - some people had problems out of the box.

I might get this at work. Using one of the project expense to get it. I sit next to a huge opening so reception should not be too bad since I tried it with a USB tuner in the past. It will definitely turn heads and people will wonder how I got it.

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

My coworker told me the monitor arrived and it's sitting at my cube. Nice! I can't wait to get back to work on Monday. Screw reading the 3 weeks of emails that I am out, I will be connecting and setting up the TV

Re: Thoughts on this HannsG monitor?

Now that I have a few days to play with the Samsung T260HD, it's not bad for the price. The 25.5" is big with the bezel. The viewing angle is definitely better than my Samsung 2494SW at home. 1920 x 1200 is great in this monitor. Althought, it does not look as good as my Apple 23" Cinema in 1920 x 1200 but that is obvious for a low cost monitor and the larger pixels. The TV tuner is pretty good. I was able to pull in a lot channels but then again, it's probably because I am next to a window that is from floor to ceiling and outside is open field. The controls on the TV and remote are lacking and suck.
