And no, I'm not trying to pirate anything.

Somehow my DiabloII CD got cracked. I want to make a copy of my roommate's CD since his is still in good condition. Anyway, nero 5.0 says it's copyrighted and won't let me copy it.

I'm sure there's something out there that will let me, but is it safe to install on top of nero. I read somewhere having two buring programs installed is asking for it.

Nero 5.0.8.3 (or is it 5.0.3.8) doesn't give me any problems. Is your Nero the full version?

Maybe try making a nero disc image first and then burn the image to a blank. Sometimes this works better.

Almost always have to do that in CD Creator for mixed-media type stuff.

I burned Diablo 2 with my Easy CD Creator 4, it seemed to copy fine, but it wouldn't play(it said no play disc was available, though I had the burned disc in). That is one of the safeguards blizzard put in to combat burning. I think the way to get around this is with full installation, then copy one of the patches below, that way you don't have to insert your CD everytime. Its a bit convoluted,but worth the effort.

Regedit is a bit tricky if you havent used it before.
(Start->Run: command->
at the c: prompt, type regedit, hit enter, then expand directories as they specify).

Good luck. the patch files are downloadable here:

That reminded me of a funny story. I had downloaded the first 2 cds to start playing a few days before I bought since it wasn't out in the woods where I live. It was working great for single player and all, but then I went and bought it and WHAM, I get that error message with the actual cd's from Blizzard. That was the stupidest thing i'd ever seen. I finally got it fixed after a couple of weeks, played a couple of weeks and quit since it was about the most boring and badly done game i'd played in a long time.
