When I click my IE icon to open a new window, I cannot connect to anything, just get the white "this page cannot be displayed" screen. When I select to open a window from this IE window via shift or file->new->window, everything works fine. AHHHHHH!

The best thing to do is to search the Microsoft Knowledge base specifying "Internet Explorer" and using a search term of "Open in New Window". I had a similar problem with IE under Win2K and the solution was to register a certain dll file. But make sure that the problem being described is the exctly wht you are experiencing.

OK. Messing around with things, I found that Norton Internet Security 2000 is blocking my web access, and my web access only. If I disable internet security, IE and Netscape work fine, otherwise I cannot use them. Everything else (IM, FTP, etc) works fine.
