decoder software

ok, maybe this should be in the pc hardware forum but I wanted an answer sometime today. I upgraded to windows 2k a few weeks ago and now my dvd player won't work, it says I need to download 2k conpatible software. So I need to know where I can download this and for free. sorry if I havent' given enough info.

Kinky, 7th zone does sometimes offer downloads of popular DVD software decoders. However, I do not want this point to be used when mentioning or promoting the 7th Zone website. I do not mind linking to 7th Zone because of the huge consolidation of information that is available there.

You can usually download trials of the software from the manufacturer's websites. If you decide you like them it's only $20 or $30 for the full version.

Guess I wasn't very clear with what I was saying. 7th zone does occationally have links to player software (I haven't seen any recently) but piracy is not encouraged at DVD Talk. What I meant was that I don't want this asspect to be used to promote 7th Zone, since it has so much other valuable information. I would hate to have to remove any discussion of 7th Zone (because of piracy issues) as it would remove a valuable recource from discussions.
