I'm looking at buying Cretaive Labs Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT2200 Speaker System ($129) and PC-DVD Encore 12x with Dxr3 ($145). Are these good products for the price or should I look about other products?

The features for the DVD/CD-ROM include:

Single drive functions as both a 12x PC DVD-ROM drive and a 40x CD-ROM drive
Reads all popular CD media, DVD-ROM, DVD-Video and Digital Audio Extraction
Average access time of 130 ms for DVD and 110 ms for CD
Dxr3 technology for high-resolution imagery
Dolby Digital (AC3) or DTS multichannel surround audio (requires correct sound card, speakers and digital decoder)
Front-panel stereo headphone jack and volume/eject controls
Compatible with TV S-video or composite connections

The PC-DVD Encore 12x got some decent reviews and I just picked it up. It would be at least until the weekend before I can comment on it. I'm hoping to get either the dtt2500 or 3500 to go with.

I think it should be good. I also read some decent reviews on it. I will let you know when these 2 items ship and I hook them up to my PC. I hope the speakers are worth the extra $80 I wanted to spend.

Please buy DTT2500 or DTT3500 instead. You have to own SB! Live 5.1 then you will get virtual 5.1 If you get the DTT2500 or DTT3500, you will get a true 5.1 That's all!
