Ok. I really want another RPG (i might end up starting fallout 2 again). I've heard a lot of good things about this one and it's only 12.90 at compuexpert right now. My beef is this -- I tried baldurs gate and hated the fight sequencing (i like true turn based, not something that goes repeatedly with only limited options to pause), etc. The character info and all that wasn't so bad. Probably just because I haven't had any experience with AD&D.

Soooo...is Planescape Torment just like BG in terms of play styling and control, or is it less complex or just more turn based?

any info would be appreciated.

thanks,

Tuan Jim

hmm. maybe i'll just pick up darkstone for $13. the demo was a lot of fun.

Planescape is pretty good (I only stopped because of a weird bug) Icewind Dale is also good. Both are similar to BG in terms of game play.

That game is all talk and no action. I mean you spend so much time talking, I had to quite cause it was driving me insane and I was unable to kill everyone in town so I stopped playing.

I havent played Planescape, but I do hang out way to much in a Baldurs Gate chat channel on IRC. Torment uses the same graphics technology as BG, but from everything I've heard the gameplay is actually closer to fallout than it is to BG. If you like games with a strong storyline then this is one of the best RPG's you can buy. It doesnt have a heavy focus on action. Get diablo of you wanna hack monsters into bloody chunks
I do plan on picking this game up eventually.

Hope this helps.

Software (even PC gaming software) discussions belong in the DVD Rom and Computer forum.

Moving thread.
