I could use some help fellows.
I am putting a system together for my son
with some older hardware and can't get 98 to recognise my DXR2 decoder card. Details follow, all help would be appreciated.
I have tried changing slots, to no avail.

FIC VA503+ motherboard
AMD K6-2 processor
Creative Rage video
Thanks for any and all help

I have a dxr-2 card and drive; after you put the card in, what exactly did you do to set it up? The first thing that you should do is run "cdload.exe" on the floppy disk. If you install the player that's on the cd, then you'll get an error since it'll think the card is not installed yet.

Thanks Mike, but my floppy does not contain this file (p/n 127122211001). My drivers disk will only work in DOS. When I try to run it, it says that it can't be used in windows. Yet to install the drivers install.exe must be used.

Well, basically I had to install what was on the floppy, then I used the cd.

You have the cd, right? Please, what you could do is the list the files that are on YOUR floppy, then I'll compare it with the floppy I have.

My disk has 41, whereas yours appears to have 17. I have both the cd and the floppy disk; together, they're about 3 megs. Maybe I can send both of them to you.

Check to see how many files are on the cd. If its the same, then maybe I'll send the floppy disk files for starters. Also, there's a another program I could give you that disables macrovision and makes the player region-free.

My suggestion would be to not use the disk and CD that came with the card. There are newer drivers that have improved overall compatibillity with DVD titles. Kinda wish I kept my DXR2 when I got my H+. Each one has thier own strengths.

Anyway, here's a direct link to the latest DXR2 drivers:

Success!!!
I deleted all the files from previous tries.
Then reinstalled from scratch, no idea why it worked but it did. Thanks Mike for your help and the offer of your files. And thanks to you also Jason I found some good utilities from your link.
