Adobe Flash Plug-in/Vista question

I just purchased my wife an Acer Aspire laptop that has Windows Vista installed. I set up everything last night and have to admit it's pretty damn neat, although I have run into one problem.

On her MySpace page she has Hypster which is a form of music jukebox. Well, where that should be on her page along with a couple of other items is an empty box with a picture of a blue icon.

It asks me to install the Adobe Flash plug in which I'm assuming is needed to allow the program and other apps to work (such as the Texas Hold 'Em one she has). I click the link and follow the instructions and download Adobe Reader and Flash but still no luck.

I even shut down the computer and reboot it but still nothing.

I am using Firefox 3.0 if that makes any difference.

If someone could be so kind as to help me out, that would be great!

Thanks!

i think with firefox you have to run the flash executable to install flash, not like IE where it installs into the browser

when you go to the flash install website with FF, do you see the animation?

Re: Adobe Flash Plug-in/Vista question

I searched around and found a messgae board that said there were some problems with FF and Vista when it comes to flash.

I ended up going via IE and it worked fine on MySpace that way

I am using Vista x64, and no problems with FF 3 and Flash.

Re: Adobe Flash Plug-in/Vista question

I use Vista 32, FF3 and Flash, with no issues.

FF3 saves downloads to your username's "Downloads" folder by default in Vista, not to your Desktop. If you open your username folder via the Vista Start menu, then open the Downloads folder, you'll probably find multiple downloads of the Flash installer.

You won't need to reboot the computer, but FF3 does need to be closed while Flash is installing. I believe the Flash installer will prompt you to close FF and any other non-IE browser before it continues.
