loud pop, high ptch screech and, frozen computer when watching videos.
 

just what the title says. i installed a new video card in a computer that is hooked up to my htpc. well when i watch movies usually a half hour in or so that happens. also most videos look really dark unless played on wmp. they always look good on wmp. i doubt the computer is getting hot since it has 5 fans and is in an air conditioned room. i also tried to install the invidia drivers after the 3rd time it happened but it just made my screen look like it was on an acid trip. i turned it off and the next day it was back to normal. any ideas whats wrong.? im using xp.

Well, I would start by uninstall the driver completely, reboot and reinstall the drivers that came with the card. Sounds like an IRQ problem with the soundcard as just a crazy guess. But its possible your drivers are hosed and need reinstalled from scratch.

well i think i have a faulty video card. i reinstalled the drivers and still no luck. then i put it into another computer and i get the exact same thing. looks like i need to send it back.
