HELP!!! D-link Wireless connection problem WinXP.

I have a desktop running WinXP. Using a D-link usb wireless connection. And using Firefox browser. Been using my GF computer no problems at all. But she cant get online. The firefox browser just says no connection and there is a button to TRY AGAIN. What could be the problem? I waited to open the browser until there is a ful connection. And she has told me she waited too, but still cant get online. Please help. Thanks.

Is her browser configured to use a proxy? Tools, Options, advanced, Network, settings. Generally on a home connection, you'd want to click the direct connection to the internet.

Do other browsers work? Can you ping anything on the net from that computer (such as www.yahoo.com), or do an nslookup?

If its not the proxy, could be that she's connected to the LAN, but that there is an issue with the connection going outside.
