How do I partition My Book USB drive?

Just added a Western Digital My Book, connected through USB, and I want to add five partitions to mirror those of my internal hard drives. Only problem is, the Data Lifeguard Tools don't seem to be working. The software sees the drive and identifies it correctly as FAT32, but it won't let me do anything other than delete the existing partition. Tried to use Data Lifeguard for DOS, but it didn't support USB.

Is there some way to partition this thing the way I want?

Many thanks.
