Can you transfer Hi-8 to PC/Mac?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or have any personal experience with transfering Hi-8 video to their PC? I am currently using a Canon L-1 Pro-sumer camera.

What exactly am I going to need? A TV-tuner card? A VCR?

After doing alittle more research I found some stuff of interest to others wanting to do the very same thing I mentioned above:

I'm not exactly tech savy, so I'll be jerking around with this for alittle while.

I'm not sure if you read what I posted but I've already got a camera.

Thanks for the information, but thats why I posted in here. I've got a questing and the solution isnt getting another camera.

Thanks again for your input.

Anyone else have a setup that doesnt include getting a new camera?

Sony did make a Digital8 "video Walkman" deck, the GV-D200. There is an "untested" one on eBay right now for $99 + shipping. Regardless of whether or not you want to hear it, you could probably pick up a used Digital8 camera on eBay for less than that, and have something that will do what you want and act as a backup camera. (Granted, a lower quality backup.)

In my other post in Otter, I am going to be using this camera until a couple things come clear with my cards and I'm going to be getting a HVX200.

But this just gets me going on picking up and shooting, right now I've got a TV tuner card eyeballed online and looking at running with that.
