Recovering i-Tunes playlist?

Last night, I accidentally deleted EVERY song from one of my i-Tunes playlists?

I have not synced my iPod since then though which has the playlist synced to it.

Is there a way to recover the playlist from the iPod and then re-import it into iTunes?

Or am I screwed and I have to recreate it from scratch? That would suck since there were like a gazillion songs in that playist.

There's some programs in here that allow you to move playlists from your ipod. I don't know how well they work, or what OS you are using.

I haven't lost the media, just the playlist.

I can always recreate it, but there are well over 2000 songs on it and it will take me forever to do.

I spent most of last night trying to recreate it and I only got up to BILLY IDOL. Alphabetically on iTunes, that is only "B" not "I".

Another site suggested sending that playlist to the On-The-Go playlist on my iPod, then rename that new playlist when I sync the iPod with iTunes. This would be a great solution if not for the 1000 song limit for the On-The-Go playlist.

Yeah, I really wish Itunes had an undo feature. I wonder if a system restore would help?

I wondered the same thing... but it didn't help. The same, new "barely started" playlist stared back at me after doing a system restore.

I'm just accepting that I'll have to rebuild the playlist.

I'll look at it as a chance to clean house.

The link I provided suggested using Sharepod. From Sharepod's website:

SharePod 3 is a huge leap ahead of the previous 2.x versions! Here are some of the main features:

- Redesigned interface
- Track tag editing
- Video import support
- iPod Shuffle support
- Drag and drop tracks to Explorer
- Playlists and ratings transferred to iTunes
- Completely rewritten codebase to safely import files to your iPod
- Play Count, Last Played Date support
- Volume Adjustment support
- Even faster loading/sorting time!

Sounds like what you are looking for. If nothing else, use it long enough to get your playlist back.
