MS-Excel Question?

How can I subtract 3 months from a whole column of dates? I don't care about the exact date, just the month - for example, if a cell has an entry of 5/31/2009 then I merely want the result to return Feb-2009. If it is 8/1/2009 then I want the result to show May-2009. Did I make myself clear?

Thanks in advance.

Use the DATE(), YEAR(), and MONTH() functions.

=IF(MONTH(A1)>3,DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)-3,1),DATE(YEAR(A1)-1,MONTH(A1)+9,1))

Format the cells for the second column so that it doesn't show the day.
