Its been years now! I've had the wonderful iPod Shuffle, but i'm tired of the 250 song limit, and want more. But I don't want something with a screen, or that plays videos, or anything excessive like that.

I just want a simple MP3 player like the Shuffle, but that holds more than 4MB....

They changed the design, but not the GB. Grrr....

Weren't Shuffles originally 512 and 1 GB? How did you have a 2GB shuffle for 2 years?

Me thinks you're confused.

OH DIP! Mayhaps I am. So then, if 1GB held approx. 250 songs, then I guess 2GB holds approx 500 songs?

well, not good enough. In all this time, they only upped it to the next GB? 500 songs ain't gonna do it for me. I wanted the Shuffle to hold 1000 songs. Oh well...

If they're releasing a 2gb, I'd bet a 4gb is right around the corner...especially with other smaller players such as the Sansa Clip going 4gb already.

4 GB? That's shit. 8 GB is where it's at. Actually, 8 GB is shit compared to 16 GB.

Well at some point, it seems a bit silly to be throwing all that space into a player with no display... if you really want capacity in something fairly small, get a Nano or a Zen or something.

They're $39 US with free shipping for the refurbs now. I'm thinking I should get one...but I just hate the colors. I could only stand silver or purple...I'd love if they had the older colors, as I liked the old green.

I agree. I use my shuffle for mowing the lawn or other types of outside work but that's it. If you need more space than that you likely need the ability to do playlist. Get a nano.

The reason why I never considered getting an iPod shuffle: no display. That's why I have a 3G iPod nano (8 GB).

I almost bought a Sandisk Sansa Clip but they're almost impossible to find.

If they make the storage bigger it would cut into the Nano sales and while I don't have any sales stats, I'd guess that the Nano is, heads and shoulders, leading the iPod sales.

The shame of it is that I bought all the accessories for my beloved iPod Shuffle - the $50.00 external speakers for listening in the house; the $25.00 mini-speakers for picnics and beaches; car plug for listening while mobile...

If I upgraded to the Nano, all that stuff would become obsolete. I'd have to invest in all new accessories...right?

Not necessarily but it would depend on the equipment. List the manufacturer and model #'s or visit their websites to check compatibility.

Well, what you shoulda done was buy that (Griffin? Belkin?) adapter that lets you use a 2G Shuffle with any iPod accessory. That way, you didn't have to buy 2G Shuffle-specific accessories - anything "made for iPod" would work.

I agree with the others. Apple seems to take their sweet time in getting a 2GB Shuffle out the door; however, I don't think the Shuffle needs more than 2GB, quite frankly. Any more than that and you're going to need a display, which defeats the whole purpose of the Shuffle.
