Question about Dells and power supplies.

I know that Dell used to use proprietary power supplies. I know they stopped using them at some point. Do the proprietary power supplies all have the two leads to the motherboard?

I'm trying to find out if I can use an off the shelf PS in my computer.

Dimension 4600

purchased 2002-2003 (can't remember.)

I also came across an article which had the Dimension 4600 listed as the #10 worst PC of all time due to frequent power supply failure.

if Im not mistaken.. one of the issues with the 4600, was the thought that the case fan was placed on backwards.. some sites recommended taking it apart and flipping it around
