Laptop mobile broadband??

I picked up a new laptop and I am wanting to get to the web anywhere I go.
I use cingular/AT&T for my cell phone. Cingular has the slowest conection speed for internet right??
Sprint has AirCard® 595U by Sierra Wireless. It plugs into the usb slot of a laptop or desktop. Thats good for me as I'm still using dial-up at home, I could get rid of that.
Cleawire has laptop cards but there service rang is not that good..

anyway I'm just looking for ideas...

I don't know enough to comment on Sprint, Verizon or Clearwire, but I have AT&T for my phone internet access. I am in the San Jose/San Francisco area, and they have been actively deploying 3G here, and that is very fast. Where it's not available or is weak, the system defaults back to their older Edge system, which is decent but noticeably slower. It will switch back and forth automatically depending on signal strength, and I can definitely tell the speed difference between the two (One reason people complain about the iPhone is that it runs only on Edge, but not 3G yet, apparently because of power consumption/battery life issues). You pay the same amount and get 3G when it's available and Edge otherwise, so there is no cost consideration here.

AT&T is certainly the best option.....you should better stick to it.

I've got the AT&T 881 USB card.
Problem is it does not have e-mail.
So I'm looking for a good free online service.
I've heard of Google mail (don't want any of there other stuff) & hotmail.
I'm just wondering what ideas the DVDTalk community might have.
thankz
