Windows XP font problem

Hey all, somehow my daughter messed up the fonts on my computer and now all the fonts are these teeny "script fonts" and now i cant read any of the words on menus, IE, or anything.

Any idea on how to help?

Right Click on desktop> click appearance tab> go to the Font size pull down menu at the bottom. Select large or extra large, or whatever you want to set it to.

tried that. it appears all the fonts but about 8 have disappeared from the Fonts folder in the control panel. I copied all the fonts from the c/windows/fonts folder into that folder, then reset the theme back to windows XP and it worked, but when i reboot, i have the same problem. Tiny scripted unreadable fonts and the fonts i copy over disappear again with each reboot.

maybe some theme program is messing things up. check what's at the windows startup.

I'd create a new user account and check if the same problem is there.

Ok, got font size fixed. Now how do i remove the "shadow" outline surrounding the text below the icons on the desktop? it wasnt there before, but when i reset to the Windows XP default theme they were there.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Right click My Computer --> Properties --> Advanced tab --> 'Settings' button for "Performance" --> check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

UncleJosh,

I have the same problem...how did you fix it? I've tried lots of stuff, but nothing works.
