GPS navigation vs. cell phone navigation?

Trying to decide between a standalone nav unit like a Magellan or Garmin, or just getting a new cell phone with navigation.

Any thoughts, pros or cons?

Stand-alone units are quicker and do their job very well. Cell phones are good for occasional use as they're slower and the interface isn't really tuned for navigation. That being said, here is a very nice, FREE GPS app for cell phones. It's Java-based, so it should work on most phones. It not only does turn-by-turn navigation, it also talks to you.

Thanks, I kind of found what I was looking for. Verizon Navigator is a fee per month and does not even cover all the country.

I'll get a standalone.
