Help need with EXCEL

my s.o. has a excel assessment test in the morning and she is stuck on a graphing question. Wendersfan is offlline so he cannot help at the moment. Does anyone know enough to answer a question or two on Yahoo IM or AIM? I would appreciate some otter help! thanks, Joe

me: that seems pretty general, wouldn't you just use a bar graph?
her : i can do monthly but when i try to break it down quarterly it doesnt work

seriously, why are so many more people interested in tony romo than helping a fellow dvdtalker out?

Disclaimer: I am far from an Excel graph guru; I'm a daily user, but seldom use graphs.

Also there's not a whole lot to go on.

The first thing I would ask is if each period is explicitly assigned a value that uniquely identifies it, like q1-2007 or something, rather than trying to have a formula determine what quarter a period belonged to based on the date.

I don't use Excel to create graphs. The results are never to my liking. I always use Stata or R. However, if you could post the data I would probably be able to help, assuming it's not too late.

I'm assuming it's too late for this, but it seems like a very general question.

I assume this is what she can do.



Since she can do monthly charts easily. She can either combine the 3 months to make quarter totals or she can use a stacked column chart to show the monthly data within a quarter.

This is a stacked column chart off of the data in the first picture.
