Just Bought Wireless Router ... Need Help.

I have a Windows XP PC with Optimum Internet.

I have a Windows Vista PC that I want to connect to it with the Wireless Router.

I connected the Router to the Vista PC ....

What are the steps necessary to get it working properly.

Hope I'm giving all the info necessary ...

I don't know squat about Optimum (is that cable?) or Vista (I use XP) but basically you hook the incoming internet cable to the router then the router to a PC. (You really don't need a hardwired computer on the router, except when it's setup. But, I digress.)

If you hardwire the Vista PC to the router then you'll need a wireless adapter in the XP PC.

You should have a setup CD which you have to begin before hooking anything to anything. Then, just follow the instructions. I'd advise passwording it unless you don't mind your neighbors connecting through your router.

So, based on what you wrote, use the router setup CD on the Vista system and any adapter setup CD on the XP system. (Unless the XP system already has an adapter. Unlikely unless you installed one. If it were a laptop you might already have an internal adapter.)

Hope you're not confused. The time change has me foggy.
