Is there an application to make sure a DVD is fully readable?

I just picked up about 30 movies from a "store closing" sale at Hollywood Video (80% off anything!) but know I won't be able to watch them for some time. Most appear to be scuffed/scratched, so I'd like to make sure they all work without actually sitting through each one.

Is there a program I can run (besides ripping them) that will read through the disc and make sure the entire disc is readable? At the price, I'm not concerned too much, but I'd like to at least make sure they work fine.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.

EDIT: And as a bonus question.. any free, basic software to randomly pick a line of text from a group?

I have a long list of unwatched DVDs and would like to use this to "randomly pick one" if possible.

It won't pick a line but I'm sure you can figure a way to make it work.
