Recovery Drive full?

I bought a new HP PC in February with Vista installed. As most store-bought PCs do, it came with a Recovery drive partition. Lately, I've been getting pop-ups stating that this drive is nearly full. My computer states that it has 32 MB free of 6.05 GB. What would be causing this? It keeps telling me to clear room on the drive, but it's a recovery partition...so I'm hesitant to delete anything in it.

It's supposed to be full. Just ignore those errors. Unless your saving files to that drive, in that case you should stop.

I'm not.

Is there any way to get it to stop alerting me? Highly annoying.

My only suggestion is to go into MSconfig and make sure that the recguard process is in the startup. This protects your recovery partition from deletion/corruption. If this got disabled, it might explain your warnings.

Nothing called "recguard" is in there. How do I get it back?

This should turn off any monitoring programs running.

open RUN
type "msconfig"
uncheck "load startup items"
exit out and restart computer
