Is $100 shipped a good price for a brand new Zune? I have an XBOX 360 so there's possibility of cool stuff between them in the future.

If 30GB is enough for you, then yes, otherwise wait until the new ones come out next month.

The old ones will be getting a software update when the Zune 2 launches, so you won't be missing out on too much.

IMO, $99 for the Zune 30 is a steal. I've owned mine for a little over a month ($150 on woot) and even though it has fewer features than my Creative Zen Vision:M (which I've owned for over a year) I find myself using the Zune instead of the ZVM.

There are some limitations, like the requirement to use the Zune desktop software for syncing, that will disappear with the new firmware update. But all in all, it's a great little player that gets the job done with minimal hassle.

When comparing the capacity of the players, keep in mind that 30GB on a the Zune will go further than 30GB on other players (specifically the iPod). WMV format for video is highly efficient. I have been converting my DVDs to wmv format for sync-n-go playback. A 2 hour movie weighs in 480MB. And it looks fantastic on the Zune's large 3" screen.

What is the runtime? And that's about 52 movies (calculating 25 gigs usable space). That's enough for me How is it charged? (please say mini-usb, please say mini-usb).

What I really am hoping for is an XBOX DVR service, and then transferring to the Zune.

I couldn't find it new on Buy.com for 99, but today on Woot it is 99 for a refurb.

Seems like a great deal. I was able to get mine for $125 shortly after release from American Express, and think its a pretty good player.

Well I figured out that it's not a good deal space-wise. $100 for 30 gig or $250 for 80 gigs. You get an extra 10 gigs of space with the $250 one. Might wait and see if there's a Black Friday deal. I want a WMV player.
