The question is: What exactly are you using computer for? Gaming? Work? Photoshopping pictures? Surfing p0rno websites?

I woulkd take the second one because you're getting a faster CPU and larger widescreen LCD. Hard drives are cheap. Why settle for a 80GB or 250GB when you can easily buy a 500GB for $100.

Mchawson, no porn, well, not that much. I will mainly use it for downloading videos(dramas and tv shows) from usenet. Running ORB to feed my Xbox 360. And running some games, haven't really been gaming anymore since the xbox. I just need something more peppy, my 700m/2ghz/2gig ram laptop seems faster/peppier, at times, than my current system 4550/p4-2.66/1gig ram.

Zuffy, yeah, I was thinking that too, it's really the core/cpu/power that your buying into. The only drawback is the video card option, which isn't listed, so I guess it's integrated... hmmm tough choice still...

My old dell is just too slow...

Get the 9200. I think the SE198WFP is analog only. For the $220 price difference, you could pick up a bigger HD and a better video card than the one on the XPS. The processor is also faster with a larger L2 cache.

Edit: Scratch that, the SE198WFP does have DVI. I'd still go with the 9200.

Based on your answer (I was kidding about p0rno ), I would recommend 9200 like everyone else.

Well I changed my mind, I'd wait till you can use of of dell's famous coupons for $300 or $350 off $999 and THEN I'd buy the first thing smokin.
