Seagate external drive turns on and off by itself ?

how do i stop my external USB drive from shutting itself off when my computer idles.

this has to be one of the worst features i have ever seen in any computer product. I can understand that this might be desirable if i CHOOSE for it to be that way, but it actually comes like this - and with no obvious way of changing it!!!

Is there a way to change it ? please help!

thank you

skibby

I hate that with the seagates, called them and they said there is no way of disabling it. What I did was wrote a batch file to create then delete a directory on the drive and the scheduled it to run every 15 min
