DVD plays audio but no visual?

Hi, im having trouble playing dvds on my computer for some reason.
Whenever i play a dvd with WIndows Media Player or Windvd all i get is audio but the screen is black. Any ideas why this is happening?

Incase you need the info, it's a internal dvd drive, LITEON DVD-ROM LTD163

Any help would be appreciated as i could not find anyone with this problem ;/

Try updating your video card driver.

This can sometimes happen if the player is trying to use video overlay to display the video (likely) and another program is using it already. Try restarting the computer or download Media Player Classic and under Play -> Options -> Playback -> Output .. set DirectShow Video to one of the VRM options.

This can also happen if you are missing the DVD/MPEG2 codec. It should have been installed with WinDVD, but you can search for a DVD codec pack on google and get another one to install. I recommend one of the K-lite options at free-codecs.com
