WiFi signal locator recommendations?

Looking for a reliable WiFi hotspot Detector I can use to find signals without having to boot up my laptop only to find weak or no signals nearby.

Other than the cheapos offered by Brookstone (and a few on Ebay) the best I could find myself was a Trendnet TEW-429UB locater and adapter.

Anyone have experiences using these devices and/or have any other recommendations?

Thanks

Not sure if this is overkill but Linksys has a nice one that is also a USB wireless adapter. I have it and it gives lots of signal info on the screen, but it's a little big if you were thinking of keychain types. Recharges by USB.
