Best photo printer?

I need some help with recommending a photo printer for a digital camera.

What's the best one out there for around $100? It doesn't matter if it is one that hooks up to the computer or is freestanding? Obviously it will have to be one that takes the memory card from my digital camera? Are these printers pretty much compatible with all memory cards?

Appreciate any help

We just bought the Epson Picturemate snap for the bro-in-law for Christmas. It is $129 at BB this week.

My wife has an older version that does very well. It is only a 4x6 printer though. I am not sure what you are looking for.

Thansk!

After shopping around I opted to pick up the Epson Stylus CX4800 because it allows us to print 8x10 color photo's too. Also has the bonus of a flatbed scanner. Not bad for $93 from Amazon.

best deal is to get them done through target or some local drugstore

it used to be less than $.30 a print which is a lot less than buying a printer, the special paper and special ink

We do ours at Costco. Somewhere around $0.17 a piece and the quality and convenience is great.

Another vote for Costco. $0.17 for 4" x 6", $1.49 for 8" x 12".
I think you are hard-pressed to buy ink and paper for that. The
Costco prints are on real photographic paper which I find more durable.

When you do it at Costco is that something you do yourself? I've seen Kiosks for printing them out. Or is it something you have to pick up at a later time?

Costco is great, can't beat the price. You can even upload to their site and order prints that way or bring them in yourself.

If you still want a printer I also have an Epson that has good quality.
