Samsung Portable MP3 / XM Player question

Samsung neXus 1GB* MP3 Player with XM Satellite Radio - Silver
Model: YP-X5Z

On Black Friday it will be $100 before a $50 mail in rebate (though there may be as few as three per store). It says that you can record 50 hours of XM programming onto it. So this isn't actually receiving the XM signal, right?

Here's the situation - my mom has XM. If I got this portable player could I hook it up to her radio, record 50 hours of music, then take it with me? Then the next time I was at her house I'd replace any music I wanted to.

Also, when replaying XM songs, would the display show song information?

No, it is an actual XM receiver. If you buy it, it will require activation and a subscription. And the rebate requires you keep the subscription for 6 months.

The Nexus is a receiver that record what it receives. You cannot connect to another XM receiver and record. If your mom has xm you can likely have you radio activated on her account for a lower price ~5.95 per month. Without activation these radios are useless.

To answer your toher question...yes it will display the name and title of the song or whatever you are playing. I had the old Pioneer Airwave and it works great.
