Resolution Problem With My Sister's PC

I had her PC set at 1280x1024 @ 32-bit for a long time. The resolution was changed (I assume by her, but she act like she doesn't know anything about it) to 1024x768 @ 32-bit and now it will not go any higher. I've gone to the advanced advanced graphics card settings and it too will not go past 1024x768 anymore.

What could cause this and how can it be fixed?

Thanks

It could be the computer recognizing (or misrecognizing) the monitor and thinking it only goes up to 1024 resolution. I usually manually set my monitor type to a Sony GDM-W900 which supports multiple and very high resolutions. That way I have lots of choices.

So, what should I do, specifically?

You can configure FFDShow and you don't know how to set display type?

Here is is for Windows 2000, it should be similar for XP.

Right-click on the desktop, select Properties, click the Settings tab, click the Advanced button, click the Monitor tab, click the Properties button, click the Driver tab, click the Update Driver button, select "Display a list of know drivers..." then click the Next button, select "Show all hardware for this display class", find the Sony monitor, and then finish up.

I'll try that.

Sometimes some of the seemingly simpler things end up giving me the most trouble.

Thanks
