Problems with Windows Media Player

Currently using Windows Media Player 11 (I think it's Beta 1 on my desktop and Beta 2 on my laptop). I'm running into an issue using the copy on my desktop. It doesn't think it's connected to the internet. If I try to play a streaming video (such as the just released Flags of our Fathers trailer), it gives me a message saying:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.
Of course, I am on the internet, since I'm posting this message. I downloaded Beta 2 to see if that would work, but it wont even install, telling me that I need to be online to install it, and I'm not. (Hmmm... I wonder how I downloaded the installation file then! )

Any ideas on how to fix this? I also can't get CNN Pipeline to play video on my desktop, and it works fine on my laptop. I think it might relate to the WMP issue.

Brian
