any way to get out of safe mode?

Got a question. We had 2 brief power outtages on saturday night, and every time i try to get my laptop rebooted, windows doesn't work. I can only get safe mode to work. Computer works and all and thats what i am using now to type this, but its in safe mode and the everything is very big.

what version of windows is it? xp? look at the event viewer for some clues - start - > control panel -> admin tools -> event viewer.
