Man, I always thought that those USB fan, desk light and cup warmers are wacky enough. But this?

My personal favorite was one I saw in Maxim a few month ago. A guy had a drink coller hooker up to the USB port. It was a coaster that had a fan or something in it to keep drinks at a cool 45 degrees.

I, however, would be hesistant to keep something like that so close to a laptop.

One of my personal favorites, a USB-controlled missile launcher.

This one isn't really crazy, but it is different, and very practical for some people.
It's a turntable that hooks up to your computer with USB cable, so you can digitize your albums for burning to cd, or convert to mp3 for your mp3 player. I saw it on HGTV's show, "I Want That - Tech Toys". I'd like to try it out, but can't afford it now.
They sell it on Amazon.com, for a good price. Check it out.

So, crazy, as in something stupid..........no.
But, crazy, as in far out.....................yes.

I'd prefer the Old School method. PCI audio card. RCA Inputs and Outs. Maybe even a preamp. Many turntables already have stereo RCA outs so it's just a matter of buying an audio card which can record from an external source.

I've been looking for one cheap:

Outpost has them for about $20, but I figure I can pick one up at Fry's for the same price and will look this weekend.
