anyone buy a Dell laptop very recently?

I'm looking at getting a 15 inch dual core inspiron. i recently read a comparison between the dual core and the core 2 duo coming out and for the laptop series, the speeds are VERY similar.

so what Dell laptop did you buy (specs), how much was it and what coupon did you use?

i wish i could snag a $750 off $1500 or something similar. Right now the best there is: 20% off $1000 or more.

I have a dual core latitude d820. It's pretty fast (not core2, just original). The core2 laptops won't have the huge performance increases like the desktops are reporting, as the core duo like I have already had some of the improvements that they've put in the conroe series. The articles I've seen are talking about 10-15% increases vs 40-50% on the desktop side. I got this in april right when this model came out, no coupons since it was for work, it was around 2200.

I'd wait it out till the $750.00 coupon came out, FW has the coupons listed and they come out pretty often. Besides Christmas is coming and they should have some good deals. I would recommend one of those 15.4 inch widescreen laptops as Windows Vista seems to be much better Widescreen then box.

$750 off $2000? That's a bit rich for my blood. The $750 off $1500 is tough to use unless you wake up early right? Is this coming out soon?

that coupon hasn't existed in awhile.

I used a $350 off $1000 when I got my E1505 (stacked with a $35 off coupon+ fatcash +2%DPA). Paid $650 (less fatcash), also got a $50 credit due to shipping error.
