Speaker Problem

I just purchased an intel-IMAC desktop. I hooked up Altec Lansing, but I am receiving the constant feedback--sounds like bees buzzing. It comes on every 45 seconds. I thought at first it was the phone so I moved it. No such luck. I'm at a loss to figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions?

Check the cable and the plug - they might be loose. Also try to plug the speaker to other equipment. Did they make the same noise, or just when you plug it to your PC?

I checked the plug and cables and nothing was loose. I connected to the speakers to my IPOD as well as one of my televisions and the noise was still there.

I think this may be the answer. I turned down the volume on the subwoofer, and I haven't had the feedback/static.

I wrote too soon. Turning down the volume on the subwoofer worked momentarily, but the buzzing returned after about ten minutes.

Well, do you have any magnetoelectric device near the speakers that may affect them, or in the entier department, building or the neighborhood such as broadcasting station or cellular station (tower)!!

The problem was in the speakers themselves. Others had the same problem, and I have to return them for a refund. Of course, I now have to look for decen but affordable speakers for my IMAC. Any suggestions?
