Help! PC problem (CPU ?)

Since I installed SBC Yahoo internet to my computer (Dell 4400, Windows XP 5.1.2600, Pentium 4, 1.65GHz, 1.70GHz, 256MB), the computer often freezes. Not only when I use internet, but also when the computer is just idle. I have to restart the computer.

According to Task Manager, CPU usage is 100% even though there is a lot of space in Commit Charge (Actually, I don't know what that means.) I notice that I have a lot of Processes going on (45 of them or so), many of which I don't recognize but I don't know wether they are necessary or not. So I can't delete them.

I guess I could do system restore, but last time I did that, I had serious problem and had to erase everything and reinstall Windows.

What can I do to solve this problem? If I have to reinstall Windows, can some tell me how to do it because I forgot how I did it the last time.

Thank you so much for reading this, and I appreciate any advice.

I had almost similar problem with SBC Yahoo software - I installed it on my step-dad's brand new Dell laptop After restart the computer, I got blue screen at boot up saying that there's something wrong with memory. I kept getting it at every boot up, so I hit system restore and removed the SBC Yahoo software. The problem went away.

I guess that the SBC Yahoo software is fucked up.
