DOS prompt - date question

I need to run a program everyday that needs as one of the parameters yesterday's date in YYYYMMDD format.

I need to run this from the DOS prompt, so somehow I need a batch file that generates yesterday's date. This batch file should be able to handle crossover to previous months (i.e. if I run it on June 1, 2006, the parameter should read 20060531), crossover to previous years, and leap years.

How could I implement this? Thanks for your help!
