Annoying new ads in hotmail?

Yes, I do still have a hotmail account. In the past couple of weeks, I've noticed new banner ads that expand when they first load, blocking parts of the inbox. Today, I have some kind of AMEX ad that automatically expanded, and worse, has no "close" button... it's currently blocking the top few emails in my inbox, as well as the menu. Is this just something they're testing? Anyone else get these?

edited to add: I guess there is a "close" button in the bottom right hand corner... unfortunately, the right hand side banner ad covers it unless I increase browser width. Still, very annoying.

I surf the Net using Firefox with the Flashblock, Adblock, and the Filterset G Updater extension. I never see ads on webpages.
