Voice recognition software?

Does anyone have a recommendation for good voice recognition software?

Ideally it would be able to take input from a handheld recorder and a plus would be that it could run on both PC and Mac.

one of the VPs here has been using dragon naturally speaking for the past 6 or 7 years and he swears by it
upgrades when each new version comes out, and uses it non stop

i played around with it some 10 years ago and didnt think it was all that great.. its probably improved alot since then

i think they are basically the 'leader' in the field

Thanks for the recommendations! A little more about the requirements...

The dictator will not be sitting at a computer and will be using legal and medical terms, more legal than medical. So a portable recorder will be necessary.

The person processing the speech has a Mac but buying her a PC isn't a problem.

I'm not sure ViaVoice has the legal and medical terms. NaturallySpeaking does, but not both in the same version as far as I can tell.

X - if you are interested I could hook you up with a legal version of ViaVoice10 standard edition for free.

I'd suggest either Dragon (windows) or iListen (mac). Dragon is the more accurate of the two, especially the dragon preferred version (versus standard).
