Windows XP backup question

If I run the backup feature and backup my documents and settings in XP Home (SP2), can I restore these documents and settings to XP Pro? I don't see where this would be a problem, but I've never done this before and don't want to run into any hidden problems.

Also, does backing up documents and settings store Firefox/Thunderbird files, or does it only take IE/Outlook Express files? I can fish them out manually, but it's a royal pain (especially Thunderbird).
