Cookie questions

Whenever I click on links the advertisers seem to know the area i live in. Ive tried deleting cookies but they still seem to know. is there any other files I need to delete ? im using both Firefox and IE7 and in both browsers they can read my area.

Ive checked for spybots etc and scan with ad aware, spybot search and destroy , Zone Alarm Security Suite and Windows Defender on a nightly basis.

Your location is probably being determined by an IP lookup (like this). Deleting your cookies will have no effect, therefore. If you want to avoid this you will need to use an anonymous proxy server.
