Help. Microsoft Outlook won't open up

I tried opening up Microsoft Outlook today and I got this error:

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if the condition persists."

I'm connected to the internet and everything. I'm also running XP. Can anybody tell me why it's not working?

Well I decided to start a new profile and just use my old backup file. It worked then.

I'm guessing my original pst file was corrupted. Fortunately I had a backup.

Step 3 was about creating a new profile. You had said you tried all of those options and that it was a "no dice" situation...

Oh my bad. I briefly looked at step 3 and kind of confused me. I stopped by the Microsoft site and it kind of had a dumbed down version for me.

Thanks, and let me say, the dice hit lucky seven.
