How can I convert .aa files to .mp3?

Is there a free software that can do this? If so, where can I find it?

You can try GoldWave. I also saw this tip on some forum: GW's Tools->CuePoints->AutoCue followed by 'Split File' to seek out the silences between chapters if you want easier to handle sizes on files.

Goldwave works great. I used it before I owned an iPod to get it on my pain in the ass Sony players that didn't play nice with other formats besides Atrac.
